Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

StreetShelf is an app where neighbours gift, lend or rent things to each other. This policy explains what personal data we collect and why, who we share it with, and how to use your rights. It is written to meet Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, if you use the app from the European Union, the GDPR. The Turkish version prevails if the two differ.

Who is responsible

StreetShelf is run by an independent developer. For any question or request: support@streetshelf.app.

What we collect

We do not collect payment details: rent is paid in cash between the two people at the handover. There is no advertising and no advertising tracking.

Why we use it

Who sees it

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, listings and photos, conversations, handover history, reviews and reports are permanently deleted. Groups you founded are not deleted; they pass to their longest-standing member. Copies in backups are removed within 30 days.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. If a handover is in progress (you have someone's item, or someone has yours), it has to be finished or cancelled first, so nobody's belongings are left without a record. If you cannot reach the app, email support@streetshelf.app from your account's address.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK and the GDPR you may ask whether we process your data, get a copy of it, have it corrected or deleted, object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Send requests to support@streetshelf.app; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority or the data protection authority where you live.

Children

StreetShelf is not for anyone under 18. If we find an account belonging to someone under 18, we delete it.

Security

Connections are encrypted, sign-in uses one-time codes instead of passwords, and database-level access rules let each user see only what they need to. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach happens we will notify as the law requires.

Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes are announced in the app; the current version is always at this address.
